Application: Allows you to extend your HDTV display up to 180 feet Using Category 5e cable connections. The transmitter unit connects to the HDMI audio/video device with a HDMI connection. The receiver is located near the HDTV display source (HDTV, monitor) and connected to the display source with a HDMI connection. Then, the transmitter and the receiver units are connected together with two (2) Category 5 cables that transmit a pristine high definition signal between the A/V device and the HDTV display up to 180 feet.(Draws Its power needs directly from the HDMI cable).

The advantages of using this type of cable rather than HDMI are that you can alter the length of your cable and it is very cheap in comparison with full HDMI cabling, CAT 5e cable is easy to hide in a house, behind walls etc.
